Welcome to the October 2026 Goldman Fine Art newsletter, Studio Insights. This issue features Ken Goldman’s award-winning painting San Diego River Dusk, now in its final week at the San Diego Watercolor Society, and a new pop-up class taught by Ken and Stephanie Goldman this November.
San Diego River Dusk: Final Week at SDWS
Everyone in San Diego has driven over this river; almost no one has stopped to look at it. Ken did. San Diego River Dusk (acrylic on watercolor paper, 22 × 30 inches) shows the estuary below Mission Valley in the last few minutes of light: salt grass turning gray-green, the river picking up the last of the pink, and the lights on the hills coming on.
The painting received the Dynasty Brush | Michael Harding | SmartWorks for Artists Award at the SDWS 46th International Exhibition and was one of the Top Ten winners of Artists Magazine‘s 19th Annual Over 60 Art Competition. It is on view at the SDWS Gallery, 2825 Dewey Road, Studio 105, Liberty Station, 11 AM–3 PM daily through Saturday, October 31. Read more about the award.
