Stephanie Goldman and Ken Goldman were invited to serve as international jurors for the 4th Le Venezie International Watercolor Festival in Treviso, Italy, one of the fastest-growing watercolor events in the world.
Founded in 2023, the festival draws artists from around the globe. This year’s theme, Heritage and Expedition: The Memory and Contemporaneity of Watercolor, honors the British art patron Elhanan Bicknell and his descendant, the botanical watercolorist Clarence Bicknell. The theme invites artists to explore how watercolor traditions are carried forward, reinvented and rewritten for the future.
The exhibition runs October 17 – November 1, 2026, at the historic medieval Palazzo dei Trecento in Treviso, and includes a special display of Clarence Bicknell’s watercolors of Alpine flowers.
Jurying an international show is both an honor and a responsibility. Stephanie and Ken reviewed entries from watercolor artists around the world and found a wide range of approaches, from traditional to boldly experimental. Both are past presidents of the National Watercolor Society and bring decades of experience evaluating and championing watercolor at the highest level.
GoldmanFineArt is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s festival. Stephanie and Ken donated their time as jurors in support of the festival’s mission to celebrate and advance watercolor around the world.
Congratulations to all the artists selected for the exhibition. If you’re in Italy this fall, it’s well worth a visit to Treviso.
