THREE CORRIDOR MURALS : A PANORAMIC VIEW OF TORREY PINES

Scripps La Jolla Hospital Murals

At Scripps La Jolla Hospital, art and healing come together through a vibrant depiction of San Diego’s Torrey Pines State Park. Along the first floor’s long corridor, three separate views of Torrey Pines, 7 feet high by 107 feet long immerse patients and visitors in the tranquility of nature.

Complementing these expansive corridor landscapes are two dining room murals, each offering its own serene window to the sea. The first features La Jolla Cove, capturing the sparkling blues green grass and wind swept trees that define the region’s charm. The second depicts Torrey Pines State Beach at sunset, bathed in soft, glowing warm tones that evoke calm and renewal.

Each mural—whether watercolor or acrylic, corridor or dining—was thoughtfully hand-painted at a smaller scale and then enlarged into custom wallpaper, transforming everyday spaces into an uplifting visual journey.
