102 Drawing & Painting Master Copies – ONLINE

Course Overview:

Strengthen your skills, improve your focus, and explore new techniques by challenging yourself to draw and/or paint from the masters. Discover their economy of line and vocabulary of form by absorbing their tips and tricks into your own work. Each week we will draw and/or paint from carefully selected high-quality drawings and/or paintings by master artists (past and present). We will focus on how to construct figures and portraits, with special weekly attention given to each of the five main features. Beginners are encouraged to work in pencil, charcoal, and PanPastel, while those with more experience may work in other mediums, such as watercolor, acrylics, or oils. All levels are welcome, as instruction and demonstrations are given on an individual and group basis.

Course Materials:

MATERIALS: Any mark-making materials you have in your home studio, including graphite (mechanical or wood pencils), charcoal (vine, willow, or wood-encased), pen & ink, colored pencils, erasers, ruler, and sketch pad or loose sheets of paper (white, cream, or toned).
